By default WordPress will show your latest posts as your front page. If you want a static page you’ll need to create a new page that will act as your homepage. Once you’ve published this new page you can make it the front page by going to your dashboard and selecting Appearance> Customize and once in the Customizer going to Homepage Settings and selecting the page you’ve just created as your static page. Don’t forget to hit the publish button!
